Hundreds of miles of jeep trails ideally suited for mountain biking can be found
on the Uncompahgre Plateau, west of Montrose. The variety of terrain offers
trails for all skill levels and a climate permitting three-season biking. The
trails weaving through the plateau's canyon country are excellent during spring
and fall, and the highland trails are inspiring summertime biking.
Access to the
trails is from the Dave Wood Road, Highway 90, and the Transfer and Divide
Roads.
