The Cimarron Railroad Exhibits

Cimmaron Railroad Exhibit - Train 278You will find Locomotive 278, an 1882 Denver & Rio Grande Narrow Gauge locomotive magnificently restored to 1940s service standard. It is displayed within the spectacular high-walled Cimarron River Canyon on an 1882 Denver & Rio Grande trestle, the last remaining structure left from the former Black Canyon Route of the Rio Grande Narrow Gauge. 

Located within Curecanti National Recreation Area, 20 miles east of Montrose, just off US Highway 50. The Visitor's Center and exhibits are open year round. (970) 249-4074.
